You might want to get up early in the morning on the day you want to buy flowers. Flower shops normally get their deliveries early in the morning and you can get the freshest flowers then.
When choosing your flowers, you should look at a couple of things to ensure that you get the best buds:
- Stems: make sure that the stems are freshly cut.
- Leaves: make sure that the leaves are green and firm. Don’t pick anything that has signs of brown or yellow.
- Buds: make sure that the buds are firm and without blights.
Another tip would be to look around for the vendor that has the best offerings and then try to buy all of your flowers there. The chances would be that you could negotiate for a better price that way.
